Keep prompt reservations briefly after successful dispatch so rapid idle/message/error transitions cannot inject the same follow-up twice.
Route all production session prompt calls through the shared gate, restore skipped background resume state, release holds after abort/recovery paths, and preserve Ralph/ULW loop state when a dispatch is deferred.

When many background tasks complete in rapid succession while the parent
session is idle, each completion fired its own promptAsync call, stacking
N consecutive `<system-reminder>` user messages with no assistant turn
between. Hyperplan + many parallel explore subagents made this very
visible to the user.
Route the idle-path through the existing pendingParentWakes queue with a
100ms debounce window. Notifications arriving during the debounce join
the same batch, the 150ms settle window also coalesces newcomers, and a
single batched prompt fires to the parent. Busy-path semantics are
unchanged (still 1s retry).
Prior attempts (1c05c60dc, ea55c385b, a337635e3) all coalesced only the
busy-defer path, leaving the idle-immediate-send path uncoalesced.
Handle OpenCode session events that carry the session ID under properties.info.id or properties.info.sessionID so background tasks and continuation hooks do not miss idle/error/delete events.
Add regression coverage for nested session.idle events completing background tasks and waking continuation hooks.
MessageAbortedError/worker shutdown could race with scheduled removeTask, leaving background_output's manager.getTask returning 'Task not found' even though the task had completed cleanly.
Fix: add completedTaskArchive (max 500, FIFO eviction). On removeTask, archive non-running/pending tasks with sessionId. getTask falls back to archive on active-map miss. addTask clears stale archive entries on re-registration.

Agent names like \hephaestus\ cause 'Agent not found' errors because
sanitizeSubagentType() was only called in subagent-resolver.ts but not
in the direct manager.launch() path or background-executor.ts.
- manager.ts: strip leading/trailing backslash/quote chars from input.agent
before validation so \hephaestus\ → hephaestus
- background-executor.ts: call sanitizeSubagentType(args.subagent_type)
instead of passing raw value to manager.launch()
- agent-display-names.ts: reuse sanitizeSubagentType in stripAgentListSortPrefix
- Add unit tests for all three fix points

Updates the canonical Anthropic Opus model in every fallback chain
(sisyphus, oracle, prometheus, metis, momus, visual-engineering,
ultrabrain, deep, artistry, unspecified-high), the unspecified-high
category default, the think-mode HIGH_VARIANT_MAP, the Claude Code
alias map, the claude-thinking legacy alias, the context-limit GA
regex, and event.ts fallback strings.
Widens supportsCachedAnthropicLimit to accept both claude-*-4-6 and
claude-*-4-7 so the 1M context cache still applies across the bump.
Regenerates the bundled model-capabilities snapshot from models.dev
and the model-fallback snapshot to match the new source output.
Anthropic API accepts claude-opus-4.6 (dot format) but not
claude-opus-4-6 (dash format). Added anthropic case to
transformModelForProvider to normalize dash-format model IDs before
they reach the provider. Updated model config snapshots and test

Fire-and-forget session.abort() calls during subagent completion left
dangling promises that raced with parent session teardown. In Bun on
WSL2/Linux, this triggered a StringImplShape assertion (SIGABRT) as
WebKit GC collected string data still referenced by the inflight request.
Fix: await session.abort() in all four completion/error paths:
- startTask promptAsync error handler (launch path)
- resume promptAsync error handler (resume path)
- cancelTask (explicit cancel path)
- tryCompleteTask (normal completion path)
Also marks the two .catch() error callbacks as async so the await is
valid.
Test: update session.deleted cascade test to flush two microtask rounds
since cancelTask now awaits abort before cleanupPendingByParent.
- completedTaskSummaries now includes status and error info
- notifyParentSession: noReply=false for failed tasks so parent reacts
- Batch notification distinguishes successful vs failed/cancelled tasks

Tests 'should use default timeout when config not provided' (manager.test.ts)
and 'should use DEFAULT_MESSAGE_STALENESS_TIMEOUT_MS when not configured'
(task-poller.test.ts) failed in CI because Date.now() drifted between
test setup (when creating timestamps like Date.now() - 46*60*1000) and
actual execution inside checkAndInterruptStaleTasks().
On slower CI machines, this drift pushed borderline values across
the threshold, causing tasks that should be stale to remain 'running'.
Fix: Mock Date.now with spyOn to return a fixed time, ensuring
consistent timeout calculations regardless of execution speed.
Tests prove rootDescendantCounts is never decremented on task completion,
cancellation, or error — making maxDescendants a lifetime quota instead of
a concurrent-active cap. All 4 tests fail (RED phase) before the fix.
